Christian Music Birthdays
Religion AND Music-related book?
So I have a friend, and I know she loves books. And her birthday’s coming up, and I REALLY need to get her a good book since I totally haven’t done so in the past.
I know she loves music – classical, violins mainly.
She’s also Christian.
But as I am, the only music I know is rock and rap, and I’m an atheist. So I really don’t know if there’s a book out there that ties in music AND religion well. Fiction OR nonfiction. Anyone have any good ideas?
I have the book for you: Bel Canto by Ann Patchett. It’s not directly about religion, but it does have religious significance. I’ll tell you this much of the plot: an opera singer is held hostage by revolutionaries in a third word country. If this sound corny or preposterous to you–it’s not.
