When did Sesame Street stop showing segments from the 70′s and 80′s?

In the summer of 1994 (after I finished sophomore year of High School) I went to one of those High School Christian youth conferences. Well one day during our downtime, I went in one of the hotel rooms to hang out with some kids from one of other churches, and for some reason they were watching Sesame Street.
Anyway, my point is, when I was watching it on that day in 1994, I saw a lot of the segments that I remember seeing in the late 70′s and early 80′s (not the outside scenes with Gordon, Susan, Bob, Maria, etc, those were all new) but some of the other scenes were still being shown. (Examples: ladybug picnic, 12345….12, guy tripping down the steps when carrying pies, the Kaleidoscope with choir music in background)
So if they were still showing a lot of those segments in 1994, I’m just wondering when they finally took all of those off and replaced them with all new stuff? Or did they?

Well, I was born in 1987. I remember all the ones you just mentioned, plus a bunch of others that I’m sure you know. However, I can tell you that during my childhood, I noticed the familiar (read: good) segments dwindling, only to be replaced by absolute garbage. I know this because I didn’t have cable, so when I stayed home from school sick even when I was too old for Sesame Street, it was pretty much all I had to watch. I always liked the little “commercials” better than the plot or the street scenes as a kid. I noticed as I got older there was more time spent on the street scenes/main plot of the episode. Also, there was a much greater focus on Elmo, the bane of my existence. They also added those terrible muppets like Zoe and Rosita and tried to make everything diverse and politically correct.
