Christian Music Industry
Is contemporary christian music okay? If so, what bands/artists are best?
Before finding out the truth about the music industry, I loved Beyonce, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Michael Jackson (who I still like, he wasn’t bad)- So I liked R&B, but also I liked some rock. Who are the best R&B christian artists?
Do you (christians) think it is okay to listing to secular music if it is about love or positive things?
I think its just as ok for you to listen to secular music with a positive theme as it is for me ( a non christian) to listen to and enjoy hymns and Christmas carols.
I can understand your distaste in some secular music where they seem to glorify sex, crime and worship money, but you don’t have t be Christian to feel like that! Nothing worse than turning on a music channel at 3 in the afternoon with your kids sat with you and having a screen full of booty in a thong shaking at you ! lol.
Christian groups are not popular n the UK so I can’t answer that part of your question, but I would keep an open mind.
If you hear a song and like it so look up the lyrics online and then wiki the artist to see if your comfortable with it.
But music can speak to us in many ways so be sure you understand the message before condemning a song, a Song may appear to glorify drugs, but may actually be a dire warning.
