Music Question For Christians?
I’m a pretty young guy in my 20’s but I have been obsessed with heavy metal music for a long time now. Bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Ratt, Dokken etc… I am going to church these days and trying to life a better Christian lifestyle but I still listen to Heavy Metal. I’ve got a big collection of old heavy metal vinyl records, concert t-shirts, posters etc. A few high school aged girls at church are having a bonfire this weekend and trying to get me to let them burn up all my heavy metal stuff. They even want to burn my guitar up because it has skulls on it! Do you think it’s alright to keep my heavy metal collection or should I give in and let them burn it all to ashes?
If you allow them to burn your guitar, I will personally show up to take you to task.
As for your music tastes, let God guide you as to what you should be listening to. I wouldn’t really advise chucking all your music. You may also find in time that your tastes change due to your growth as a Christian.
