Jehovah Witnesses, Why are you forbidden to listening to Christian music?
I am wondering now that your songbook has been updated with new songs from Prince. Who decides what songs are acceptable to God?
I will not reveal my information to you because they still work in Bethel. So far I have not seen anyone answer who decides what music is acceptable to God?
Let me make this as simple as possible. Who decides what music Jehovah listens to, men or Jehovah?
Witnesses are convinced (brainwashed) into thinking that the only music acceptable to Jehovah is through the Kingdom Melodies. They have been told that all religious affiliations are part of Satan’s domain and that they must stay clear from false religion. As everyone knows music is a powerful motivator and can influence peoples thinking. Even in their own magazines, they talk about how hard rock or rap made a teenager kill his parts (music to die to). I can’t quote the Awake that was from. So the watchtower uses their music to further condition the members into thinking that they are special people of God. Keep in mind that the Watchtower is a cult and in a cult you want to control all aspects of the members life, especially music. As for who decides what is acceptable. The Society has taken it upon themselves to tell the members what music Jehovah appreciates. Which is very sad. Can you imagine, men telling the Creator of music what he will listen to. As for Prince writing songs. I have seen blogs regarding that. It appears that he may have contributed some of the songs. But the Society will not confirm that. They don’t want anyone idolize Prince.
