Is going to church like a show for some christians?

And the pastor or /reverend or whatever is like a circus ringleader ?
I mean they are on an elevated platform(pulpit) dominating the parishioners and directing a show, most of the time with music blaring from an old organ.
Then everyone sings and sometimes applaud to whatever he says….
everybody knows that there’s nothing like being in the spotlight ,right?
So is church just a circus after all?
I don’t go to church,i’m not religious.
But i have been to several services and it all seeems to me like the pastors or reverend or whatever seeemed to think their s*** smells like roses.

I went to a church once where the women seemed driven to out-dress each other, and the men were absolutely snobs. I know this plays right into the hands of what atheists say about some “Christians”, but in some cases it’s true.
It almost seems that (depending on your geography) church is merely a place to go to establish business contacts and sneek in a “Praise the Lord!” between business deals going on in the gallery.
Of course, I’ve been in churches where this nonsense never happened, and the Christians there were truly what they said they were; not just what they appeared to be. They were the salt of the earth. Beautiful souls.
