gospel music definition
since gospel means ‘good news’… what are those news?

according to some christians i know, gospel is the word of god thru the people, and it means ‘good news’… so the definition i have of it, is something like music with christian lyrics.
So, i have listened some of this gospel artists, and i can notice that the ‘news’ are quite old, it’s all about the same, there’s no news there, is just repetitive stuff about god, 2000 yrs old information, i understand that ‘news’ are information of something that happens and it should be updated daily.. then… should it be considered as ‘news’ anyway? if so, who gives the news and where to find it? i am just curious

Haha…funny, yeah, it’d be news for somebody raised in an orthodox jewish family (and never heard of anything outside of the middle east since the time before Jesus of Nazareth). Frankly, I think Ibuprofen and penicillin would qualify as better news (seriously, they’re great advancements).
