Gospel Music Figures
anyone who knows about music software and anyone who plays Christian music?
I have no idea if it’s possible, but is there some kind of program that would figure out the music, like the melody line,chords,whatever, for you off your favorite cd?because there are songs I would love to play on the piano, but I have no idea where to even find them.maybe you could also suggest some sites where I could get sheet music.I’m looking for Southern gospel,old bluegrass gospel,the stuff the Cathedrals sing, for the piano, of course.
ok if what I described is not possible,is there a program where I can hook up a keyboard to my computer and it write the notes on staff paper while I’m playing?you know the same concept as typing.
Currently, there is no audio software that can extract pitch information from a fully mixed and mastered audio recording. For a person with “perfect pitch”, it’s not hard, but for a computer, it’s too complex at this point in time.
Find a friend that can “play by ear” and read/write sheet music too (they’re not that rare). That’s your best bet.
As far as sheet music sites, well, I can’t help you there, but there’s an alternate: MIDI files. If you can find a MIDI file of the song you’re looking for, you can load that into almost any sequencing software and look at the notes. MIDI is basically a series of notes and the order they’re played in, like a digital player-piano roll.
You can look at lyrics sites, but be careful– most “lyrics sites” are full of spyware.
