Terry Bradshaw Great Football Player – Hall of Fame
I remember watching Terry Bradshaw play football when I was a boy. He played for the hated Pittsburgh Steelers. I was an Oakland Raider fan. They played in great games.
Terry Bradshaw has done a lot of things, other than play football, in his life. He was born in Shreveport, LA on September 2, 1948. Many people have called TB the greatest quarterback in NFL history and arguably the hardest thrower. Bradshaw has done a lot in football from broadcasting to writing about it, but never coaching football. He was selected as an All-American while playing for Louisiana Technical University. In 1970 he was the very first player selected. He played his professional football for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Terry Bradshaw was the first quarterback to win 4 Super Bowls. In those games they beat the Los Angeles Rams, the Minnesota Vikings and they beat the Dallas Cowboys two times.
Let me repeat what we discussed earlier in this brief article, Bradshaw was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the second of three sons of Bill and Novis Bradshaw. The Pittsburgh Steelers took him first in the 1970 NFL draft. The Steelers drew the first pick in the draft after winning a coin flip tiebreaker with the Chicago Bears due to both teams having equivalent 1-13 records in 1969. Bradshaw became a starter one year after he was drafted in 1970. He had his finest season in 1978 when he was named the Most Valuable Player by the Associated Press.
Bradshaw retired from football in 1983. In 1984 he became a game analyst and signed a TV contract. His career began with CBS Sports. He teamed with legendary broadcaster Verne Lundquist and worked play-by-play. Their games were very popular and drew a huge audience.
Bradshaw was promoted into television studio analyst for The NFL Today in 1990. He teamed with Greg Gumbel on Fox NFL Sunday, the popular pre-game football show. He comes off as a goofy country boy on the show and he has lots of jokes and funny things to say. Bradshaw has also written or co-written five books and recorded six albums of country/western and gospel music.
