Gospel Music Survey

SURVEY: Christmas Song Preferences?
Christmas music is a whole distinct genre of music, even to be distinguished from other religious types of music (gospel, etc.).
The question posed here is: WHICH TYPE of Christmas music is your preference?
BY ORIGINAL/HIT ARTISTS: You know the songs and their associated artists which made them “famous” or had hits with them. (Normally, these do not include hymns and other “spiritual” songs.) Examples:
White Christmas… by Bing Crosby
Most Wonderful Time of the Year…. Andy Williams
Sleigh Ride… Boston Pops
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer… Gene Autry
Holly Jolly Christmas… Burl Ives
REMAKES BY OTHER ARTISTS: Traditional and contemporary songs performed by artists other than those who originally made them famous…. especially those with different “takes” on the song.
I’m a little of both sides. I love the originals and certain songs that I grew up listening by certain artists. But there are also certain artists I love, like Diana Krall and Harry Connick Jr, and love to listen to whatever Christmas songs they make.
To see what I’m talking about, here’s a link to my playlists that I post on web sites like Myspace, etc. http://www.playlist.com/jdawn (the one titled Christmas List)
